2015 New Year’s Resolutions

So, last year ended roughly; thankfully it’s a new year!!! (:

I started the year incredibly sick, apparently I have a “chronic allergy to the environment,” thanks Los Angeles!!! I was feverish, I had a sore throat, stuffy nose and even got a cold sore. It was horrible!!!

Anywho, I started my second to last quarter at Cal State LA, and I’m super duper excited! 156 days until GRADUATION! So, it’s time to get my New Year’s Resolutions down on paper, errr, in writing.

First, I’m committed to getting in shape and losing weight. No, it’s not because I think I’m fat or whatever, but because I want to feel good about myself. I want to look back at my graduation and feel proud of how I look. I want to be healthy and live a really long life. Getting in shape is important to me, because one can never really be too careful. With illnesses popping up everywhere, you have to make sure that you are doing your best to stay out of trouble, and that’s what I want to do.

Getting in shape!

Second, I want to get good grades. Though, the classes I’m currently taking are a little hard [thanks senior year], I want to be super successful. I want to be proud of myself and I want to surpass my current grades. I know a grade isn’t really a good measurement for knowledge, but I want to be able to continue onto Graduate school and the only way I will be able to is by having really amazing grades.

Third, I want to write a blog post at least once a week, probably on Fridays. I’ve had my blog since the beginning of the summer [2014] and haven’t started getting into a consistent writing cycle. I want to change that. I still want to figure out what kind of blog I want this to be, so soon we shall see!

Fourth, I want to plan a couple of trips for this upcoming year. A lot of things are happening this year which means there will be a lot of celebrating all over the world! In chronological order: for MLK weekend, I want to get together with my friends and relax at my favorite place in SoCal: Balboa Island. A weekend-get-away would be the perfect way to start the quarter, since I was not able to do so during the Holiday break. Next, my birthday and my father’s birthday fall the week before my Spring Break, he’s finally turning the big 5-0, so I want to do something special. We shall see… I’ll keep you posted. Then, my middle [little] sis turns 21, so we will be celebrating it in Las Vegas, with Miss Britney Spears! Maybe another weekend-get-away for Memorial Day to follow, for S‘s birthday. Then, Graduation! I want to go to Europe with my best friend, but that’s still tentative; maybe a beach trip with the fam? And for this upcoming summer, I want to visit my lovely friend Anna in Chi-town, and get crazy! Last but not least, as far as my future-seeing eye can see, one of my oldest and dearest friends Lucia is getting married in August in Pittsburgh, so it looks like I’ll be spending time again in Steel City!!! I’m really excited!!! IMG_0379

Fifth, I want to become a morning person. So far, the first week of school has forced me to be awake early, though I’ve woken up early enough to make it through my morning routine with out rushing. I call that a win! I want to become a morning person, because, it seems like people get so much done during the time I’m sleeping in, so I decided to give it a try! I wish I had time to take a nap though! sigh.

Sixth, become even more involved in my Honor Society, Lambda Pi Eta. Last quarter I joined LPE and was able to join the brand new Marketing committee!!! Our committee is doing such a great job and everything we do. We market [obviously], and get people involved. Personally, this resolution seems to be coming true already, because I was just asked to take charge of LPE’s blog!!! I’m really excited for the challenge.

Hopefully, since this is all in writing, I will be able to keep up and keep my promises to myself. Wish me luck!!! Here’s to a new year, and an improved me!
